driver swing lesson

DO NOT LET BACKSWING GET TOO LONG swing back (counting 1-2-3) swing arms along newly established shoulder line. Concentrate on swing from hip to ball. like cracking a whip. continue to extend down that line. right elbow should be fully in front of hip More advanced swing will have arms rotate through and hips fire

driver swing lesson

the goal of today's lesson was to concentrate on the feel of the clubhead. the focus area is from hip down to ball. the emphasis is to swing the club to the ball and then stop. the path should be inside out. remember to leave right shoulder back. the feel is casting the club immediately. hips are relatively stable. remember to control clubhead with right index finger maintain width in backswing and downswing. do not reroute at the top, do not drop club at the top, swing back on same path that backswing took. remember image of downswing is that right shoulder comes forward a little but shoulder remain closed to line, then arms sweep through. for my swing i will just hold right shoulder steady and hips steady.

driver swing

relax arms. keep right arm extended back, don't allow it to collapse. goal is to maintain width. make sure club is square to line at setup. for me, this means driver clubhead looks slightly closed. swing in to out. keep right arm extended even after striking ball.

driver swing

driver swing different than iron swing in both swings, i want right arm to stay relatively extend. driver swing is flatter. use body turn to control length of backswing. keep right arm extended through swing. FINISH SWING http://www.golfwrx.com/forums/topic/834375-a-journey-to-making-golf-fun-using-i-teach/ during iron swing, hands are passive, hip turn drives swing. During driver swing, use very little hip turn. keep head focused on pretend ball. make sure swing is not steep by throwing clubhead down. very active hands. finish backswing, then throw clubhead down right away. No hip turn. keep back to target. keep right arm extended through swing. FINISH SWING hybrids are like iron swing. FINISH SWING

putting lesson

Putting Constant tempo. Same length backswing as follow through. Visualize ball rolling in hole. Two through swings(no backswing) and step up and putt Keep head still. When practice swinging, feel where swing ends. Feel the flat left wrist. Retain that feeling and step up and putt right away.. For long putts, grip little harder. Swing at same speed as shorter putts, not faster. Longer backswing (let it finish), same speed downswing (don't rush it) with tighter grip. Remember to finish swing.
