make sure alignment is correct, especially when feeling you are aiming to left.
make sure you check ball location by placing a club perpendicular to target line, especially with wedges and driver, as tendency is to put ball several inches too far back.

remember to cock right wrist and feel club in index finger on takeaway. sean o'hair training video for arm path
short, compact backswing, swing to finish. maintain flying wedge.

Putts

Make sure weight over ball. If striking poorly I tend to have weight on heels. Keep head still.
Trying some new things.
Setup with weit all on left foot. Right foot with just toe on ground.
Left hip out at 45 degree angle with weight on left heel.
Swing back with club face square to line. Short backswing. Just as long as you can and still finish followthrough completely
Keep hands inside on backswing.
On downswing mus keep hips open and keep shoulders closed
Remember to keep hands close to body on downswing. Sean o'hare drill dtl on YouTube.

Remember flying wedge. See favorites on YouTube. Must keep head still and focus on point target side of ball. Especially right mand motion.

9/7/11 swing thoughts

haven't played in a while.
new setup--

weight extremely on left side. pre turn left hip so that weight is forward and impact position.
brief backswing, keeping arms close to body and club face perpendicular to swing path.
keep eyes focused on spot about 6-8" in front of ball. try to have this spot be just outside actual target line to help with tendency to OTT.
that spot should be where max speed occurs and also where clubhead leaves ground. try to make sure clubface still perpendicular to swingpath at that point.
finish swing!

7/9/11 lesson with kyle -alignment

due to hooking the irons badly, lesson arranged with kyle
alignment. i tend to align right of the target. clubface very right, not quite as right feet square
drill to correct: on range, lay down alignmentsticks and tee 6' in front.
change preshot routine:
see the tee in the ground
walk up
setup clubface first
feet next
shoulders next. make sure shoulders are perpendicular to scoring lines
swivel neck without moving shoulders to see target.
look back from target to tee to ball
swing easy

trying to have fewer swing thoughts.

things we noticed to be worked on later:
tend to stand up a bit during shots
club tends to go inside on backswing

short backswing works great!

working thoughts-important

the feeling I have in the back swing is one where the chest and shoulders rotate slightly allowing the left shoulder to remain in contact with the chest right arm feels like it's pulling a rope or lawnmower cord back. Remembering to keep that laid off feeling in the right hand then on the downswing all I need to do is rotate my chest while ensuring that the right trigger finger remains pulled back so that the club and come around my body and finish down and out one thought that I'm working on is keeping the head position still so that I don't spin out my shoulders and create a big pull one thought that I'm working on is to keep my chin still so that my right shoulder can come in contact with it on the down swing down the line with the arms keeping the wrists clocked there will be an enormous amount of separation as the hands come through to the three o'clock position

lesson with kyle

full swing-
1)control tempo, 15% too fast. control on backswing and control on downswing.

think knockdown with controlled easy swing.

2)keep head still. focus on area in front of ball, don't let head sway back.

3)grip-keep index finger and thumb wrapped around grip a little more securely.

Putting
place putter blade in front of ball. set eyes over straight line. make sure posture is such that eyes are directly over line.

put with purpose-control tempo.

distance control on the putting green by hersheyentertainment

putting distance control

control pace, do not lunge at ball;not gravity driven exactly--that feel makes me have a longer followthru than backswing
